Small Installation Depth
CEF 2x is a a diminutive 2U rack-mountable industrial computer. The depth of the CEF 2x chassis is only 15 inches (38 cm), when a
typical 2U-chassis depth is 20 inches (approx. 50 cm). Thanks to its petite size, CEF 2x may easily be fitted into existing computer
installations.
Its small size regardless, CEF 2x is a full-grown industrial computer with all the reliability and usability enhancing
details of Control Express(R) computers. The CEF 2x base model has two suspended 3.5 inch hard disk trays. The suspension
system, CEF Damper 28, represents state-of-the-art technology in hard disk suspension. It shields the disks from different
types of vibrations and can protect them from shocks of up to 100 G.
An independent control unit acts as an early warning system against hardware malfunctions.
CEF 2x is designed and built extremely EMC-tight. This minimizes the EMC emissions CEF 2x is emitting and makes it immune to
EMC emissions from other electronic devices. Being EMC-tight, CEF 2x makes a great choice wherever delicate electronic
instruments are used.
CEF 2x comes supplied with an efficient overpressurizing filtering system. The system only allows filtered clean air inside
CEF 2x, preventing dust pile-up from causing overheating problems. Maintaining the filtering system is very easy; the filter is
replaceable without any tools.
The CEF 2x construction is based on passive backplane and separate processor card. Modular construction guarantees easy
maintaining and expansion. The CEF 2x base model has four free PCI expansion slots, three half-length and one full-length.
