Small Footprint
CEF Lite is an ultracompact industrial computer designed and manufactured by Control Express Finland. Its diminutive size
makes it well suitable for installation in locations where space is restricted, like cramped control cubicles or filled-up
server rooms. It is also easy to integrate CEF Lite in machines or control consoles.
CEF Lite is both compact and reliable. Its leading edge cooling system is based on heat exchangers, making all chassis,
processor and chip fans redundant. The huge heat sink on the Lite's front mask removes excess heat generated by the
components inside the computer chassis.
Another important reliability facet to concider is hard disk reliability. CEF Lite comes supplied with a patented hard disk
suspension system, CEF Damper 28, which makes the hard disks able to withstand shocks of up to 100 G without failing.
And if assembled with an optional CompactFlash IDE disk drive everything in CEF Lite becomes solid state, no fault-prone
moving parts included at all.
CEF Lite is built around NEXCOM's EBC 563 mainboard, with a low power VIA Eden CPU onboard. The combination of Nexcom and
VIA technologies provides high performance on an x86-compatible hardware platform, making CEF Lite a hassle-free solution
for workstation and server duty in space critical applications.
Communication capability is one of CEF Lite's fortes. There is a veritable cornucopia of communication ports available,
including three 10/100 mbps Ethernet interfaces, two serial ports, a parallel port and two USB ports. Great connectivity
features make CEF Lite also a good choice as a dedicated firewall, gateway or router.
