Great Features, Compact Size
CEF 2x is a new compact industrial computer from Control Express Finland. It is easily customizable to meet the needs of our
customers. Thanks to its rack-mountable low-profile 2U (88 mm) chassis, you can easily fit CEF 2x next to your existing
installations, without needing to invest in building additional costly air-conditioned server space. CEF 2x is easy to install
in a standard 19" rack, or wherever the installation space is at a premium. Even though CEF 2x may be small in size, it is
still a true representative of Control Express® industrial computers: big in reliability, usability and maintainability.

Typical uses for CEF 2x include process control or automation workstation, as well as duty as a print server or other light
server, as a part of a server farm. However, its easy customizability makes it suitable for a wide range of other
applications too.
CEF 2x has an independent diagnostics/control unit that monitors the voltages and temperatures. The control unit can switch
the computer heaters on and off automatically to keep the working conditions stable. When user intervention is needed, it
can also issue visual and aural alarms, thus adding to the overall reliability of the production
system it is a part of.
Dust pile-up acts as a significant thermal insulator on top of electrical components, causing endless over-heating problems
with industrial electrical appliances. CEF 2x comes supplied with an over-pressurizing cooling system which only lets
clean, filtered air inside the chassis preventing insulating dust layers from forming on top of the delicate components.
The maintenance of the cooling system is easy since the filter can be replaced in just a few seconds without any tools.
CEF 2x is easily customizable to our customers' exacting needs. In addition to normal processor cards with a single
processor, we have dual processor solutions available too. To make the computer future-proof, CEF 2x offers ample
expansion possibilities with its four PCI expansion slots. Though the CEF 2x chassis is diminutive, two suspended 3.5"
internal hard disk trays are provided. You can also fit it with the usual external mass storage options: a floppy and
a slimline CD-ROM.
The patented hard disk suspension system of CEF 2x, CEF Damper 28, protects the computer's hard disks from shocks and
vibration. The HD suspension system's operating frequency range is wide, simultaneously dampening different types of
vibration. The system is able to absorb individual shocks of up to 100 G. The cutting-edge suspension technology
used in CEF Damper 28 ensures that the hard disks can operate reliably in the most demanding conditions.
